writer hyperlinks driving me nuts

I’m editing a document in writer. I paste an email address and it forces a mailto link.
Iturn off all autocorrect, cut a url and paste back as raw test - and it forces a hyperlink.
And when I click I cant remove or edit the hyperlink.

And there is no option to make a hyperlink to text where I do need one.

How can I turn off ALL AUTOCORRECT? If I make a mistake I’ll happily correct it myself, at present its like cr*p predictive text!

Go to Tools>AutoCorrect>AutoCorrect Options, Options tab.

Uncheck the following boxes to disable auto-correction:

  • Use replacement table for the “cr*p predictive text”
  • URL recognition for hyperlinking mail addresses and web sites URL

Thanks AJ - its just not that simple - Sometimes I make a change and it changes the whole document to hyperlink!

However I’ve followed your suggestion and basically unticked EVERYTHING in autocorrect, closed it down, and now when I open again it seems to behave.

One of the problems is I use it to store passwords in a secure password protected document; and it was “correcting” passwords so they didnt work.
Why is there not just an option to turn autocorrect off?
