How to load libreoffice 6.4.1.2

6.3.1.2 was stalling a lot. So I have deleted it and tried to load the presumably latest version offered (6.4.1.2). On Installing, I got when about 10% on the way through “copying new file"s” a box “insufficient privileges…cannot continue … log on as administrator or contact system administrator”. I have been a personal PC user for about 23 years (32 years in an office, starting with the now long obselete Wang rival!!!) and have never been asked this before. I looked up Log in as administrator and the answer asked me to open Explorer - never used it before - and a Bing website came up asking me to Click View on the ribbon - what on earth is View? None of the icons claim to be View.

A 10 minute job looks like taking several hours. Perhaps I should have stuck with 6.3.1.2 and 5 minutes to reboot.

Help please firstly on View then on why I’m being asked to log in as administrator and then what to do. How does the little old lady down the road deal with such things?

And how do I get out of this question - I’ve been clicking crosswalks, busses, tractors, etc for 10 mins and have ticked I’m not a robot many times?

You are being prompted for robot ticks etc because you have cookies blocked.

On windows, I suggest it is better to install LibreOffice as administrator and allow all users. You will find the installation to be pretty smooth.

But I can’t work out how to log on as administrator - as I wrote earlier, I’ve being asked to do this in 23 years.

I realise that it isn’t libreoffice, but I can’t work out how to log on as administrator. Windows 10 help shows me a page with lusmgr - Lcal users and groups (Local users)) at the top, then a folder “Users”, then a folder “Administrator”. I can’t find this at all. How do I move on?

Did you try right clicking on the install package and see if there is an option to install as admin?
