Listbox Won't Populate

New to Libreoffice Base. I put a Listbox in a form but no matter what I do, I can get data to appear in the listbox. I drew the listbox, went to the ‘Data’ tab, made the ‘Type of List’ contents ‘sql’, wrote a sql statement "SELECT ‘MaterialName’ FROM ‘tblMaterials’.

I have put ‘MaterialName’ in the Data field as well as leave it blank. I have left the ‘Bound Field’ blank as well as making it 0 and 1. No matter what I do the listbox remains blank. I have made sure to save the form and close/reopen it. Im assuming I’m missing something simple but I can’t seem to figure it out. Any ideas?

I went through your links and I seemed to be doing everything that was suggested. I decided to make a combo box as a test. Once I made the combo box (right below the listbox), everything appeared in my listbox. Must have been some sort of glitch. Thanks for the information.
