Firebird anomaly

System: Windows 10, LO 6.3.5.2 (x64), Firebird

I’m really not trying to be a nuisance on this forum, but Firebird continues to mystify me in some of its behaviour. I had an existing query using the DATEDIFF function, which ran OK:

Whilst experimenting, I created the exact same query to test some other statements, but this instance produces an error:

AFAICS, the queries are identical. Anyone know what’s going on here? No wonder I’m finding it confusing!

Have had similar. Can’t say the problem. For me, eliminated line returns & re-established then all OK. May be something in the white space.

Next time I tried the failing query, it worked! So, no answer, just a resolution of the problem.
