I have used this for years, and have just tried to update. New version downloaded, uninstalled the OLD version, but won’g install the new version of LibreOffice! the error message keeps telling me I need permission. I am the ONLY person on this PC…NO ADMINISTRATOR! please help because now I have no doc program at all.

Nowadays no computer has an operating system without access control and various roles provided with different privileges and permissions absolutely regardless of the number of users using the specific system. In that sense, there is always an administrative role on your computer.
And your problem just may be related to a recent update of your operating system, which you did not mention. If the operating system tells you that you don’t have permission do to something, which again you don’t tell us, what something is, then you don’t have sufficient permissions and your operating system (Hint: UAC = User Access Control on Windows) prevents from performing the action you want to perform. Thus at least Run As Administrator when starting the .msi installation program.
