Hello,

I am learning libreoffice source code. Now i am trying to debug LibreOffice Online Android app. While setting things up, i realized that LibreOffice core can also be installed on Android devices. My question is:

  • Since LibreOffice can be installed and be used on Android devices (if i am not wrong), why is there a LibreOffice Online Android app?

Another question: Since LibreOffice Online works as a server, why do we need it on Android devices?

I can guess that Online version works as a client on Android devices, but why core needs Online version on Android, i don't know.

I am trying to make my mind clear about how it works.

Thank you in advance.

Because LibreOffice Online Android app is the newer implementation, and the older one (reader) is obsoleted by the newer.
