Each of the documents on the home page in 6.4 (the page that shows recent documents) has an icon on the lower right hand corner to identify the format – Writer, Calc, and so forth. Is there any way to get rid of those icons?
No - there is no way (introduced in LibreOffice 6.4 - See Release Notes and #tdf125756

Thanks… I’m not sure why I need to know the format when I created the items, but if that’s the way it is, that’s the way it is.
This doesn’t sound like an answer to the question, but a comment to an answer, thus why not using add a comment functionality?
