I am running Libre Office 6.1. Every time I try to "Save" or "Save As" a writer document Libre Office crashes - very annoying!

Libre Ofice crashes when I try to save or save as writer documents.

Please try:

  • Start in Safe Mode using Help -> Restart in Safe Mode and confirm the restart using button: Restart
  • Archive your profile expanding Advanced (click on the word Advanced right above Help button) and click Archive User Profile button
  • Click button Continue in Safe Mode
  • Open a file and test whether the problem is gone

It that works without a problem, your LibreOffice user profile may be corrupt. You need to reset the user profile. If that doesn’t help, please edit your question and add information about:

  • Which operating system do you use?
  • Which format do save to (.odt or other)?
  • Which storage device (local disk, NAS server, cloud service,…) do you save to?
