The picture has a red circle which indicate my problem. I am wondering how to activate the slide indicator in “Notes” view, just like in “Normal” view.

Indeed a bit strange - if you start(!) selecting slide in Navigator and switch to Notes tab afterwards, then you get the desired behavior. So for me it looks like a bug.

see bug report #tdf121847 - hence starting slide selection via Navigator seems to be the only available workaround for the moment.
