I cannot set the link update as ‘automaic’ and it reamins as manual as the option to make it automatic update remains disabled. This should be automatic so that when I open the file, it is updated.
I think what you need to set up is in:
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/General/Updating
and
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/Formula/Recalculation on file open.
