dynamic search and find box

I have a list of job numbers and the relevant fields of information about those jobs. what i’m asking is it possible to create a search box that when a numerical value is entered it will automatically find all jobs starting with that value and display them real time in a drop down list and as each numerical value is entered the list tightens until the required job number is found or if not a new job number can be assigned. i’m not sure if this makes much sense i’m not sure how to get across what i need. kind regards jack

Welcome Jack, kindly, specify the sizes of the list of already existing works. The fact is that solving your problem is possible in several ways, but some of these methods are limited by the size of the data. For example, 200 unique values ​​or values ​​from no more than 2000 rows.

hi thanks for the replies, johnSUN briefly im an optical engineer and each lens i manufacture requires tooling to polish a specific radius sometimes to 3 decimal places. there will never be repeated radius so should be no issue with duplicates. i would say the list will not exceed 1000. kind regards jack

I have to clarify - is this really a number? Or text that looks like a number? The first opportunity that I thought about is AutoInput. But unfortunately, this works with lines of text, not numbers.

to be honest i have all current data in paper files as they have a lot of other sheets and drawings that will not be in the digital database. so i guess the data can be number or text whichever works best. i will need to be able to add to the list as new jobs come in is this possible too?regards jack

I thought about the lack of a separate list - just use the data that is already entered above the current cell. When you enter a new value, it will automatically be included in the list.
