Libre Office

I am currently using Microsoft office as well and I did an impress presentation and saved it in LIbre but somehow Office has got hold of it (I think) and I cant open it. It just goes round and round and eventually, the folder goes into “not responding”. I have a number of other write items that are going the same thing. Can I rescue them ?

  • Which operating system and which LibreOffice version do you use?

  • How did you try open the file?

  • What file format have you saved in LibreOffice?

Please, edit your Question.

Besides the fact that you Answer isn’t an answer to the original question:

  • There is no operating system called 64 bit. Either you have Windows7, Windows8.x, Windows 10, Linux in any of the hundredth of available flavors or you have macOS (just to mention the most relevant operating systems for LibreOffice ask site)
  • There is more than one method to open a file and you don’t clarify which one you use
  • Impress is not a format but an application. Thus your information still doesn’t tell iwhich format you use to save your file. Most commonly formats are .odp or pptx and that’s important since you told above somehow Office has got hold of it. If you e.g save as .pptx and you still have MS Office installed, it is most likely that extension .pptx is associated with MS Powerpoint und hence double clicking (you see above: How to you try to open?) will open Powerpoint.
  • Libre 6.1 in the same way is imprecise. Show Help -> About LibreOffice

OPerating system 64 bit, If you note I hv indicated I cannot open the file, Also commented Format is Impress. Libre 6.1
