Can chart line colors be defaulted to black?

Every time I create a chart, I have to go in and change the line colors of the main axes so they can be seen. Is there a way to set these to a default color so every chart that is made does not have to manually be changed to desired look?

Sorry, deleted my answer, since I assumed your were talking about the colors of the data series while I later recognized that you were talking about the grey color of the axes. Hence my answer did not cover your question (I’m not aware of a way to change the default color of the axes).

Now I think I understand your question. It is relatively easy to change many things in a chart. Double-click on the chart (anywhere in the white space) to put it into Edit mode. Left-click on your axis of choice. Now right-click on the same axis to bring up the little menu box. Choose Format Axis. There are a number of tabs – one of them is Line. Choose that one and find the entry for Color. Many possibilities. Choose one and click OK. When you are done and happy with the result, be sure to click on an empty cell somewhere on your spreadsheet to bring the chart out of Edit mode. Hope this helps.

thanks for the answer. I think the best thing I can do is create a sheet with a chart with all colors and shading I want ans save it, I can copy over and over by importing the sheet into whichever project I am working on and use the imported chrt as my main template
