I am a new user. Autosum was showing on my spreadsheet and has now disappeared
The sum symbol now opens a bunch of functions. That’s changed. You could insert the sum symbol in the format toolbar then it will work as usual.

Thanks, I want to insert the autosum symbol onto my toolbar, but if I hit insert/function/sum it just inserts the symbol into the last cell I had clicked in. Not sure where to click in the toolbar to get the symbol on the toolbar. In my old version of excel I could just highlight a column of numbers, click the autosum symbol and the total showed at the bottom of the column, I’m not looking to do anything fancy, I just miss the good old sum symbol. It’s totally unclear what your problem is. Do you see the autosum button on toolbar? Your question suggest you don’t, but your “answer” hints you do (“but if I hit insert/function/sum it just inserts…”). Maybe you want it to behave differently than it does now? Your answer seems to tell that - but then Calc also insert function under selection (tested with 6.4.4.2).
Please try to re-phrase your question (edit it) and be very specific about what you see, what is not good for you, what you do, what you expect, and what happens instead. Providing screenshots with marked problems would also help.
thanks for your response. The formula toolbar was missing, but I have since located it via View, and ticked the formula bar. All sorted now and Sum is working fine. I appreciate your response.
