I have two documents that cannot be recovered for some reason. These are school documents and are needed for a grade. Every time I open Libre Office it shows the two documents, tries to recover them but is unable to. What can I do to remedy this?
What was the context? Were you editing them when the application crashed or you experienced a power failure? Is there a corresponding .~lock. file for each file? What is your operating system, LO version, and file format (ODT, DOC/X)?

The Writer documents .odt are in zip file format. If you open the documents in a zip file reader (you may need to rename the file to .zip) you may be able to recover the document text which is in the zip as content.xml.
