Can I merge an item from the Gallery with a Chart, so that when I move a chart the gallery item (an arrow) moves with it?

Select the arrow, select the chart (Shift+click), context menu (secondary button), Group.

However, after grouping you can no longer edit the chart (say add another Data Series).

Select group, menu Format - Group (or secondary button), Enter group, do the changes, menu Format - Group - Exit group.
