How to use Language Pack?

I have downloaded and installed Language Pack.
But when I try to open it I get a message (in Dutch, bacause I’m Dutch):“Installation of Language Pack is finished.
Go to ‘LibreOffice-Opties-Language settings-Languages’ to change the language of the user interface.”

But when I press OK then my app is closed again.

What must I do to use it?

Just for clarity: why, for what purpose did you install the language pack?

Which operating system, which LibreOffice version and how did you install the language pack?

But when I try to open it I get a message

You don’t open a language pack - this makes no sense. You need to set your LibreOffice to make use of the language pack by setting (as being told) Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Languages -> Language of -> Option: User Interface and selecting your language (If you are on macOS then path is:
LibreOffice -> Preferences -> Language Settings -> Languages -> Language of -> Option: User Interface)

Installing and Using a language pack consists of 2 steps:
  1. Install the language pack (using your operating system’s method to install software)
  2. Configure LibreOffice to use it (Tools -> Options ... and so on)

So I should the Language Pack present but untouched?

You still did not answer the request for information about your operating system but it sounds a bit like you are on macOS. If that’s true you

  • Downloaded a .dmg file (already done as per your question)
  • Double clicked on the .dmg file (the language pack got installed into the LibreOffice app directory)
  • You may delete the .dmg file (it is no longer needed, if language pack is installed, but this step is optional, make your own decision)
  • You still need to make the LibreOffice setting to use the language pack (i.e. LibreOffice to show a Dutch user interface)

Thank you, Opaque, for your clear answer!
You e-mail was difficult to read but this is much clearer.
I will try this out.
