How do I set the default thumbnail image of a newly created LibreOffice document of any kind?

Hello everyone,

I have LibreOffice 4.1.3.2 410(Build:2) installed currently.

I am running Fedora 19 (64-bit) currently.

I’m trying to change the thumbnail image that is being used when I create a new LibreOffice document of any kind. Be it Writer; Impress; Base; Math; or Calc. Currently, my system automatically uses a picture of the first page of the document contents and I would like it to use an icon of whatever program is used to open it by default. For example: if I have a .odt file and it opens with LibreOffice Writer by default, then I would like the thumbnail icon image for that file to be the same image that is used to launch the program LibreOffice Writer. I would like this to be the default thumbnail icon for every new document created thereafter. If you need any more information from me other than what I have already provided, please, just ask. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

This is not an LO-specific issue. Given you are using Fedora 19, which uses Gnome, either this AskUbuntu thread or this AskFedora should be of assistance for setting the icon. You will also need to alter the view in Nautilus from a preview one to an icon one as shown in this AskUbuntu thread.

Thank you for the direction.
