how to make a master document including 100 already-prepared files

I don’t think I’m computer-stupid (given all the editing work I’ve done), but for the life of me I cannot make a master document, with a title page, 2 “introductory” documents, and 90 or so files! Even after studying the Help files. Can someone help?

Each sub-document is in its own file, with its own header including page-number within that document - which I would like to keep that way (the document will NOT have the pages numbered from the beginning).

Actually…the page numbering problem is easy, as long as I enter the page number I want manually, not “as a page number”! Too soon old, too late wise…

General overview:

Is the opening header of all your files formatted using the Heading 1 style? If so, you can set that style in the master doc to insert a page break before, and restart page numbering.

Page layout (such as header/footer content) is governed by settings in the master document. The settings in subdocs are ignored.

You will also need to use a separate page style for front matter if the layout is different (no pagination).

Without knowing more about how much you have already accomplished and how you have structured your files, it is difficult to provide more explicit advice.
