How remove paragraph symbol(¶)?

I picked a wrong option when trying to turn off pagination and now all my writer files are full of blue paragraph symbols, also called pilcrows (¶). Even when I start a new writer file, one such symbol is already there. How do I remove all of them?

Just press the ¶ button in the toolbar.

Those symbols are only visual clues about the “technical” structure of your document. It helps streamline its content and diagnose problems.
Being clues, they do not print. You can, and are encouraged to, keep them permanently on.

However, if you really really (duplication intentional) don’t like them, View>Formatting Marks will toggle the display.

When this setting is “on”, spaces, tabs, line breaks and paragraph marks have distinctive representations.

I would gladly click ^ but when I do, I’m told that I need five points to upvote (I cannot get the zero below ^ to change). So please consider that I have upvoted.
