How to enter two sets of numbers in a cell and strike through only one set

Using Libre Calc can one enter two sets of numbers such as $240 and $129 and then strike through only the $240 which in my case would indicate the $240 was the original price and struck through but the $129 would remain indicated the sale price.

Depends on how you want to use the data.

If you enter the numbers as text you can select any portion and apply a strike through. However, you won’t be able to use that cell in calculations - since it is treated purely as text.

There is a workaround. Take a screenshot of the $240 with strikethrough at say size 40. Paste into an image editor and crop to size, Save as greyscale png. Select the cell with the sale price of $129 and in the menu click Insert | Image select your image and change the Anchor field to To cell (resize with cell) and OK. On the spreadsheet, right-click on the image and select Fit to Cell Size, the image will be left aligned and the actual dollar amount ($129) will be right aligned. The $129 will be able to be used in calculations. See Strikethrough.ods

Edit the cell content (F2), select “$240”, choose menu Format - Text - Strikethrough.

But in my case, I would prefer to work in two side-by-side cells. It’s easier to format a range of cells.
