this is driving me nuts daily.
I use two monitors and windows 10 (the update from last autumn still) that have different resolutions (wqhd + fhd). I maximize the writer on smaller monitor and have a browser or something behind it, while I work on the larger one. When I move to smaller monitor with my cursor, all the way to the top of the screen and drag and drop I expect to drag the libreoffice writer window, but instead I grab a tab from chrome or firefox that I have open behind it. Its 100% reproduceable.
Can this please be fixed? Thanks!
Do you have any of the windows (web browser or Writer) set to fullscreen?
Does it happen also when you make an effort to point the mouse pointer inside the title bar area of the topmost window?
Are there system updates pending, and/or waiting for reboot? In particular, display driver updates will sometimes disturb window management.
Not trying to indicate that you made any mistake. Just trying to narrow down on possible causes and find under what conditions the behavior can be consistently reproduced. This is important info for a bug report, and to determine the sensible target for such reporting. At best this could also lead to a sensible workaround.

Not sure what you mean by “to point the mouse pointer inside the title bar area of the topmost window”, but what I mean is the grey bar at the top, which shozld be the title bar?

I am using the latest AMD Driver 20.4.2 and, as mentioned, there is the big windows 10 spring update available, but since it has multiple printer issues, I havent updated to that version yet.
I was not referring to maximized wondow as seen from your screenshot, but to the fullscreen view available from the View menu, and toggled by function key F11 in most browsers, where the menus and borders are removed and the content pane fills the entire screen.
For the mouse pointer “inside title bar”, I was just wondering whether this would happen when you don’t point to the very top edge of the screen but a few pixels down, into the horizontal bar holding the Writer icon and the file name.
At several occasions I have had to revert to previous versions of display drivers, due to malfunctions in specific software. Too early to say that this is likely to help for your situation, but you could always try. Not too much hassle if you know the way (which I guess you do).
Also, posting an answer is not a good idea unless it provides a solution to the issue. It will show your issue as “answered” on the front page list, possibly attracting less helpers.
