I was on Ubuntu 16.04 and recently reformatted/upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04. The version of LibreOffice is My previous databases won't open giving me the error:

The connection to the external data source could not be established. No SDBC driver was found for the URL:embedded:hsqldb

So, I came here looking for help, saw similar issues. Made sure to go into Advanced. There I found two selections. Ubuntu 11.0.7 and "Private Build" 1.8.0_252. I tried selecting one, restarting, trying again, then trying the other, restarting, trying again. Got the same results.

Saw a message in the forum saying that "setting the connection to the database as JDBC mySQL", well, I don't know how to do that.

Can somebody help me from here?

Please insure libreoffice-sdbc-hsqldb has been installed. Has been known to be left out especially with the distro verson of LO. Can get through Synaptic.
