I wanted to know if LO Calc had fixed the problem of incorrect multi-digit fractions. The v 7.0.0 Windows x64 installer deleted all trace of the earlier version without giving me a chance to STOP. I have found it very useful to retain multiple older versions of some programs on various computers, including three versions of Microsoft Office on the same computer. Can I do that with LibreOffice?

Please provide a bug report number or describe the issue (I don’t understand what you mean by that phrase)
afaik amayl - as far as i know … as many as you like (limited by the number of available different versions and available disk space),
just install them as ‘server’ or ‘network’ installs with ‘msiexec /a “Libo_msi_file”’ into separate directories,
if you edit the bootstrap.ini in the ‘program’ subfolder you can even tell them to use different or common directories for user settings, data, backups, auto-recovery, and so on,
regarding multi-digit-fractions you are referencing fp-precision problems? some of them improved, some improved in being ‘better problems’, a real solution is far away,
but in general: don’t mix different points in one question …

Thanks to robleyd, whose Comment is actually the Answer, Yes, it can be done. Installing in parallel on Windows specifically makes it possible to install multiple versions. The tool is called Separate Install GUI (SI-GU). Or it can be done via a command-line procedure. A warning on the regular Install Wizard that your old program is going to be deleted would be nice. I thought that was standard practice.
robleyd also asks about the issue with “the problem of incorrect multi-digit fractions”. There is a previous thread on this. In Format > Number > Fraction a fraction such as 1234/5678 can be made to present correctly some of the time, but often was totally in error with no error message. The problem was not really solved. I could start a new thread on that.
Next to robleyd valid suggestion, one can can install portable versions of LibreOffice on the same drive. Such can be achieved either using a PortableApps copy either using a winPenPack copy.
The same facility exists for GNU/Linux platforms using AppImage, Flatpak or Snap images.
