How to change all bullet points in Writer?

Hello,

I want to change all bullet points to little squares. I’ve added them via the toolbar (not using the formatting panel). How can I achieve that?

Thank you!

This will depend on whether the unordered list items have been given the bullet symbol via direct formatting (toolbar button) or a paragraph / list style (from the Styles & Formatting panel). Please edit your question to include greater detail.

So I assume, I have to use the formatting panel to easily change the style afterwards… I thought that using the bullet points from toolbar would still allow me to change them easily later.

Not really. The two are completely different. Direct formatting (toolbar) creates an entirely separate entry in the XML that overrides the style (F11 panel) definition. This is why changing a style after using direct formatting has no effect. Direct formatting does not edit the style definition. Styles are much easier to change afterwards. One change and every piece of content using the associated style is affect. Direct formatting is manual. Every piece of content using this method must be altered in turn.
