The install stops and gets removed. while the download tries to remove LibreOffice 6 from the computer, it seems not able to find a certain file. “The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable”.
… especially the paragraph If previous version installer is requested. And if you’d provide the correct file name, which is missing during installation of LibreOffice 7.0, someone would be able to provide the correct link to the file you need to download / to provide during the installation of the new version.
I am trying to update from 6.4.5.2 to 7.0.0.3. I know not why or where the msi is. 7 keeps looking for "fa9c89d871b1e8d520ae2d488bdbf87d.msi. I’ve searched my entire computer and was not able to find it.
Hello,
you seem to not follow the FAQ for your case where the installation of the new versions asks for the msi package of the currently installed version (due to some corruption of the MSI installer cache). If your currently installed version is really 6.4.5.2 and 64-bit, then perform the following actions:
- Download the following old 6.4.5.2 version: https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/6.4.5.2/win/x86_64/LibreOffice_6.4.5.2_Win_x64.msi into your
Downloads
directory (or any other of your preference) -
Important Rename the (just downloaded) msi file to:
fa9c89d871b1e8d520ae2d488bdbf87d.msi
(the name expected by the installation procedure of the new version) - When being asked during the installation of the new version, provide the location of the
fa9c89d871b1e8d520ae2d488bdbf87d.msi
This should assure your current version can be deleted while installing the new version
Accidental remark: Did you use some third party software install/updater program in the past? The name of the requested old msi file (fa9c89d871b1e8d520ae2d488bdbf87d.msi
) makes me assume this. My 5ct: Don’t use such tools, which cause more problems than they solve (and your issue could be a prove of that).
Hope that helps.
