How to Delete and Save Bitmaps in Page Style Area
Writer offers a bitmap option for page backgrounds in default page style. Thirty-one sample bitmaps come along with Writer plus the opportunity to import more.
Questions:
1. In default page style (i.e., without creating a new page style), is it possible to delete some or all of the sample bitmaps provided?
2. In default page style (i.e., without creating a new page style), is it possible to add/import new bitmaps and have those bitmaps permanently added to the original bitmaps provided?
I haven't been able to accomplish either of these two aims and wonder whether what I want to do is just impossible.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Why do yo want to delete the background bitmap sample files from the LibreOffice suite? They will not be embedded into the document. Only the chosen (applied) items will be embedded into the document.
I would think it is reasonable for a user to expect to customize the bitmaps available as page backgrounds.
Yes, the User can import more new images for the background feature. And it is possible to delete the Custom images. But there are lots of DEFAULT objects and properties, that are not eraseable (through the User Interface) in the LibreOffice. (Maybe you can find them in the program library or in the user profile, and you can try to delete them by a file manager program.)
New question, same theme?
Writer Online help re: Page Style Bitmap Options?
The main issue here I guess is that the user can delete and add, but that "delete" of default backgrounds is not saved between sessions. This dialog is "global", and specific for the current installation (i.e, user configuration), so in effect for any template you use on that installation.
