When creating or opening a database in the default version of Libreoffice to Ubuntu 20.04.1 I get the follwing error no ODBC driver installed for this conneciton. Please advise

You are going to need to provide more information. What database are you using? What specific LO version? What have you installed for the ODBC (nothing is pre-installed for this)?
When creating a Base file for a database it will only use ODBC if you select that option and then you should already have prepared the drivers. In an existing Base file those drivers need to exists to open a DB with the noted connection (ie: JDBC, ODBC, etc). This connection type is noted on the opening screen of the Base .odb in the lower left corner. The actual connection is on the bottom center of the Base opening screen.
