Check boxes are greyed out, cannot seclect it. I have multiple pages, and I want them to show side by side (Book Mode). How can I do it?

For text documents, you can set the view layout. Reduce the zoom factor to see the effects of different view layout settings.
My interpretation of this is: All other document types than text documents do not support View layout
