my files keep loading MM/DD date formats even with the default DD/MM

I have recently updated my Libre Office install to 6.4.6.2 and now all my existing files load the date cells with a “Number Field” of MM/DD/YY instead of a “Date Field” DD/MM/YY

If I change the cell settings then they seem to stay after this.

My defaults are set as following
Interface English UK
Location English Australia
Currency AUD
Date Pattern D/M/Y ; D/M

Hmm. I have the same settings in LO, except NZ instead of AU, and I don’t have the same issue. Even if I make English US the default language in Windows

I can’t remember when I ticked the box “Ignore system input language” (in Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages). I did it because very other update of Windows seems to make English US the default for my PC.

I just tried ticking the “ignore system input language”.

My system settings were correct in windows, except for the English (US). IE, dates show correctly. Formats are separate to language in Windows. Even Windows 10, as I am using.

No change. All existing files load with MM/DD?YY. (Those I haven’t saved with the correct settings after the update)

When you open a document, which text language is displayed in the status bar?

English (Australia)
