When I create a table in Writer the table font is set to the first text entered

If I create a new document, and the font is set to Times New Roman, 12pt, and I type a word, then whenever I create a table, no matter what the font style, it will always be Times New Roman, 12pt. If I change the font size and write something, then delete the text, the table is created with default font. This is fine if I type the whole document in TNR 12pt because that’s the font I want to appear in tables, but the first thing I do when I create a document is create an 18pt bold and underlined title, so the first table I create will always be the wrong size. Is there any way to fix this?

Perhaps how you’re doing, you keep direct formatting inside the table.

Try with Ctrl+M (Menu/Format/Clear direct formatting)
