How to import pdf in Libreoffice 7.0

Dear reader,
I installed LibreOffice 7.0 on a Windows HP laptop. However, I am struggling with the opening of downloaded pdf files.
Do I need to add on an extension? If so what extension do I need to download and add on and how do I do that?
pdf import or pdf/odf hybrid? Where can I download these? I am open to suggestions. Thank you for your attention

Open Draw. Click File > Open in the dialog box navigate to your pdf and select it, click Open. That’s it.

Once you have opened it this way you might find in your file manager in the right-click menu you have Draw added to the selection in Open With. Otherwise, in File Explorer you can right-click on the pdf, select Open With > Choose another app with a bit of luck it will be in the list that opens; if it isn’t then at the bottom of the list click Look for another app on this pc navigate to “C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program\sdraw.exe” and OK. Draw will then be added to the Open With context menu. Cheers, Al

Great. It worked! I also installed, maybe unnecessary extensions, such as ODP2pdf import and Pepito Cleaner, although they may already be built-in LibreOffice 7.0.
New to LibreOffice. I need to go over the 500-page manual; selective reading will help.

Each line in the pdf will be a separate text box. You can join them together by Shape > Consolidate Text but you might need to reformat the layout after that. Cheers, Al

‘Consolidate Text’ combines multiple selected textboxes into one (primarily to simplify editing fragmented content from imported PDFs).

@EarnestAl, Do you remember in which other question this issue appear? I can’t find it now.

@LeroyG Reply

There was one question where someone thought I had too much time on my hands because of Covid after I suggested using Consolidate text, but I can’t find it at the moment.

There are a couple of others which are not quite the same: Can LibreOffice open PDFS, or Can I insert a .pdf document into a LibreOffice Writer document?. Cheers, Al

@EarnestAl, Seem as if that question was deleted. Thanks.
