Using HP eprint facility with Libre write doc

Hello,

Hewlett Packard have an eprint service that allows you to email a document directly to an HP printer. I have used the service many times before whereby I have just added a Word document as an attachment to an email and emailed it to the HP email address for my printer. When I just tried the same thing with a letter written with Libre writer, it did not print and I subsequently got the following email message fro HP:

Thank you for using HP’s ePrint service. Your print job was received, but could not be printed.
ePrint Error
The format of one or more of the attachments is not supported by ePrint.

The letter was written and formatted quite simply with a standard font. Is there anything I can do to enable me to use Libre writer in conjunction with the HP eprint facility?

Best Regards,

Doug MacDonald

According to HP support the only documents that eprint will accept are PDF, HTML, TXT, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Excel. ePrint cannot print digitally signed, encrypted, or password protected documents.

You’ll need to convince HP that Open Document Format as used by LibreOffice exists and should be supported. Or save your documents for printing as one of the mentioned formats. preferably PDF.

Many thanks for the quick reply which was useful. I will now contact HP to try and get them to support Open Source document format.
