paper format: Format > Page vs. File > Print

In Format > Page tab Page, I changed “Paper Format” > “Format:” from A4 to Letter. In File > Print, the left (preview) pane shows Letter as expected, and the printer uses Letter as expected. However, in the right pane, tab General, “Page Layout” > “Paper size:” still shows A4.

What is the lower right area of the dialog telling me? Have I found a bug?

I see this happening on debian-buster local build of commit f9050075, 2020-10-04, and in my currently latest version in bibisect-linux-64-7.1.

Hello @TerrenceEnger

Please provide your LO and OS versions.

Thanks in advance, Michel

@TerrenceEnger, Why do you say “the printer uses Letter as expected”? In the Printer Setting/Printer Setup dialog, have you set page size to Letter?

@LeroyG, I chose Letter in Format > Page > Page > Format. This defines my expectation. In File > Print > General > Printer … Properties > General the paper size is Letter. If I continue to actual printing, the printer uses loaded Letter paper without prompting for a form change.

In my case (LibreOffice 6.3.6.2 (x86); OS: Windows 6.1) after looking at “File > Print > General > Printer … Properties > General”, “Page Layout” > “Paper size:” automatically changes from A4 to Letter.

May be a bug…

…or error in printer driver, because just tested with a PDF printer, and Letter is listed as expected.

@mgl, I apologize for my slow response to your question. I have turned on the email notifications that I thought were already on.
