I’d advise you to edit your description to better explain what you expect from peer users. For non-English natives like me, this looks like ranting or frustration in front of a surprising reaction of the spell checker. I fear your question may thus be closed by some “moderators” as either off-topic or offensive.
On the other hand, your text contains “contractions” (voting’s begun instead of formal voting has begun). I was always told to avoid contractions in writing.
It may be a matter of dictionary. “Vote” is accepted but “voting” may not be included (strange because “vote” is both a noun and a verb).
And what do you mean with tags political
and hellworld
? I don’t think they are really meaningful for LO behaviour.
The answer is simple: the engine is (mainly) Hunspell. However, if something is falsely detected as a mistake, it has nothing to do with the engine. You should report issues to the dictionary maintainer(s). Read the release notes for more detail (say, contact them by email or via a web site).
