In Writer, is there a way to use tabs when multiple files are open?

Rather than each open file showing up in the Windows taskbar, is there a way to use tabs within Writer, Calc and Impress?

May not be what you are looking for.

At the bottom of the sidepane (Navigator, styles, properties, …), there is a drop-down menu listing all the open files. Select from it to make the designated file the topmost window. This is the closest I know to single clik on a tab.

Alternatively, Window>filename does the same. Again less obvious than click on tab because you must click first on the menu to reveal the list.
