Copying graphs to different file changes x-axis

My x-axis is a number. When I copy the graph to a new spreadsheet, the x-axis format changes to a date. For example, 1993 changes to 06/15/1993.

When I copy the graph to a new sheet, the x-axis stays to same, but when I export the sheet as a jpg, I get the first sheet exported, not the current sheet.

Any way to copy a graph and retain the x-axis format? Or to export an individual sheet as a jpg and not to always revert to the initial sheet?
