I opened a file from a known person in hotmail. I have done this before with no problems. It's just a meeting minutes. But it made a problem so I cannot open Libre Office to create a new document or open old Libre Office documents. How can I fix this?

What is your LibreOffice version? What is your operating system name and version? Do you get any error when opening LibreOffice?

Opened file from Hotmail could corrupted LibreOffice if there is some virus in the file. If you are sure there is no virus, then most probably LibreOffice was corrupted before. Maybe a LibreOffice profile got corrupted.

1. Close LibreOffice.
2. Try renaming the profile folder name from "4" to something like "old_4". See details where this folder is located (it differs according to operating system or version): https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#User_profile_location
3. Start LibreOffice. Does it helps? If yes, then profile is probably corrupted.

P.S. In profile are all of the personal setting set, so if you need any of the settings to preserve, then you will need to dig into profile to get the info.
