Hi, I have just saved an important document, then realised that most of it has disappeared before saving. I have tried tools, options, paths but there is nothing there. It was not set to automatically save backups. Is there any way to get the previously saved version back?

As far as i know, there is no way to get the previous version of the document. For the next time, maybe you want to see the use of "File -> versions".

I hope someone knows something different.

@ratrace is absolutely correct.

There is only one chance to get the previous version back after saving. This requires that after saving the file is still open. In this case you can use ctrl+z to get it back. Once the file is closed it is done. I recommend to follow @ratrace's advice and use versions. I personally use in 99.9% of my files versions.
