Which colours are available for use in Format Codes?

Am wondering whether or not there is any way to know which colours are available to enter into format codes in order to colour the characters that the codes pertain to?

Simple trial and error is fine but it’d be great if there were a list of available ones, or a general rule to follow; gets quite annoying wanting to use a certain colour for characters then finding out that it isn’t accepted for use in format codes.

I would really like to be wrong, but it seems to me that you can only use eight words - WHITE, BLACK, CYAN, MAGENTA, RED, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW

This is when it comes to understandable color names. In fact, there are more of them. Try assigning a color like [COLOR28] and see what happens. The first eight colors [COLOR1] - [COLOR8] are said to be the ones that have their own meaningful names. The rest are just numbered colors. It seems there are only 56 of them, but you can check it yourself

Update. Thanks @PKG for link to Help:

Update2 I’m glad to report that I was wrong. These colors are not 56, but 64. The first eight are not the colors that have their names - the first twelve are shades of gray from black to white. Hope this is helpful to someone
