I'm stuck in a loop and can't escape nor use LibreOffice

I’ve been using LibreOffice happily for years and love it, so imagine my delight wen a friend told me I could get an upgrade. Whilst I was in the processing of downloading and reinstalling I was told I had to quit the LibreOffice I had open. This I did, but when I went to open the newly installed version of LibreOffice I got the first of two error messages. The first reads “The application LibreOffice quit unexpectedly after it was relaunched. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected. Click relaunch to launch the application again. Click report to see more details or send a report to Apple”. I select ‘Relaunch’ and then I get the error message “Do you want to reset application settings for LibreOffice? The application quit unexpectedly after it was relaunched. resetting the application settings may fix the problem. You will be given the opportunity to restore your original settings when you quit the application”. No matter whether I select ‘reset and relaunch’ or ‘Relaunch’ I go back to the first error message whereupon I get sent to the second and there I go round and round in a loop. How do I fix this?

I am not an expert on a Mac but I would try to uninstall LibO completely and install it newly.

did you solve this?
