calc internal copy paste problem

Hi,

I am on win 10 pro 64 bit using LibreOffice 7.0.1 Portable MultilingualStandard.(I presume that the portable version on the LibreOffice download site is a 32 bit version.)

For some time now I’ve encountered problems with the clipboard - I use Arsclip as a clipboard manager but when ever I copy a series of cells/rows a notice comes up saying the clipboard is already open or cannot open clipboard.

However the real problem though that is bugging me is copy and pasting within Calc itself. It is suddenly very unpredictable. I highlight a series of rows, use Edit Copy and place the cursor in a call in a seperate sheet and right click paste with the mouse. Normally no problem everything gets pasted with formats. formulas etc…or use Paste Special but recently when I go to paste Calc insists on bringing up a Text import window as though as I was importing from a cvs file. Using Paste Special it says Source Unknown and Selection: - Unformatted text.

It is very odd and very frustrating as one has to repeat the copy sometimes many times before the right format is obtained.

I’ve downloaded X-LibreOffice_6.4.6_win64_rev21 to see if makes any difference but it still the same.

Help!

Using a clipboard manager you shouldn’t assume any issue raleted to clipboard functionality to be “internal” to any specific software. If a clipboard manager spoils anything concerning the flavors e.g. the software cannot help it.

I use Arsclip as a clipboard manager

Clipboard manager is what a distinguished LibreOffice developer prefers to call “clipboard destroyers”, due to the fact they often remove/delete/destroy content from what has been copied. I’d suggest you disable the clipboard manager for testing purposes and if the problem goes away, turn to the developer of the clipboard manager.

Hi fustre, did you ever discover a solution to this? I have the same problem on a Ubuntu 20.04 system with ClipIt clip board manager, but even if I remove ClipIt the problem is unaffected. Also I have tried GPaste (which I think is even a default installed app on 20.04) and it also neither fixes it or causes it-so far as I can tell.
