Can you save a new default line styles in Writer?

I've discovered how to save different default line styles in Draw but have seen nothing equivalent in Writer. I suspect you cannot do it in Writer, but it would be helpful if one could.

To be more exact, I can change the line width, colour, even arrow end in Writer and this continues as long as that document is open. Once closed however these defaults disappear.

I've tried saving in a template but this doesn't seem to work either.

Suggestions welcome, thanks!

The questioner seems to know Draw well.

Therefore my suggestion: Do all drawing in an interim Draw document, then CopyOrCut there and Paste into the Writer document.

An alternative might be to insert an OLE object embedding a Draw drawing, But I didn't go this way myselef except experimentally.
