We have a problem with 7.0.3.1 when opening .odt files that contain an image, even small one. The document takes so long to load up. The PC is running W10 64b with 16 GB RAM and SSD. I tried reducing the image resolution but it is not helping at all, I have read that setting cache memory to higher value wont help so I left the default. What else can we try to use LO properly without this long wait time at every file load?
Opening the odt and saving as docx will open the docx file really fast.
If you open the .odt from LO Safe Mode, does it open normally? Click Help > Restart in Safe Mode… A dialog will come up but just click the button Continue in Safe Mode. Then try opening the file. If it opens quickly then somewhere in your user profile is probably where the issue lies. Close LO
I would be inclined to copy your user folder as a backup before trying the Restore options first. Just copy the user folder and paste it into the same containing folder, maybe rename the Copy appendix to the current date, e.g. user20201204.
If the restore options turn things to custard then you can just delete the user folder and then open LO which will create a new user folder. Close LO. You can then copy some of the data folders from your backup user20201204 back into the new user folder: Autocorr, Autotext, Template, wordbook.
