Unable to delete or modify any styles

I have searched this on both the net generally and her, but there is nothing that comes up relating to Ver 6.4.7.2 (the current release at the time of writing). Once a custom style is created in Calc, it is impossible to change or delete its settings no matter how I try.

I have read that there is supposed to be a popup which offers an action confirmation with ‘No’ as the default. No popup occurs. I cannot hide, modify or delete any custom styles I have created - and it is a real pain.

This appears to be a bug which keeps being reintroduced with each new revision.

I would try it on the newest release, but I had to drop that version when I tried it earlier because the recalculation of fields after changes was really unreliable.

So how do I remove a style now?

Display the side style pane if not already visible (F11 or Styles>Manage Styles = Format>Manage Styles in 6.x)

Right-click on a style name and Modify. Do all your modifications and OK.

To remove a style, choose Delete instead of Modify. Only user-created styles can be deleted.

Filtering which styles are shown in the style side pane is done with the bottom drop-down menu.

There is no bug in style handling.

CAUTION! (EDIT 1)

To protect you against possible errors, the Delete menu item is not shown as long as any cell uses the style. To remove a style, you must first restyle all cells formatted by it. Once this is done, you can Delete it.

Note: 6.4.x is no longer the current release. The TDF site has not been updated.

The point is, This is NOT possible. I have tried that and it is NOT working. I had already seen and tried those solutions. Selecting Delete and modify allow me to do the changes - but there is never a popup to confirm they should be kept … as I stated in my original query, so this is NOT a duplicate Q.

So what is the latest version? When I tried Version 7 earlier it was really buggy wrt updating cells.

The "duplicate was relative to question 282107 you posted simultaneously with this one. Thanks to have deleted it.
