Writer-Word differences at page layout and margin sizes

In WRITER,when I open a WORD document, the page layout is altered. eg: breaks at unintended lines and margin sizes altered.Anything to avoid this?

Bug fdo#74367 reports an issue with DOCX page margin handling.

If perfect parity is a requirement: Use Word. There are many discrepancies between the two products. They are being addressed, but it takes time.

@kuttankuttappan, to reduce them report a bug to LibreOffice bug tracker: https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/

I recommend to save as doc file not as docx. Additionally use GDI metafiles for graphics. I create the graphics in Impress and paste special using GDI metafile format. With this you should be pretty save.
But report bugs please!!!

I have always found to be problems like this when working in numerous formats. Excuse me if this not relevant to your problem, but some time ago someone advised me, as long as LibreOffice is my primary software, to always work in .odt. This gives consistency and fewer problems. Then, when sharing the file with others, perhaps change it to whatever version that person uses, but keep working primarily in .odt.

Of course opening others’ documents in various formats will always produce formatting issues.

Otherwise, I have found this method to be very productive and useful.

For sharing the files with others can also be done by using PDF file, if editing by end user is not needed.

P.S. Like suggested before in my comment bellow, reporting bugs will improve compatibilities.
