In a Calc file, I have a link to a cell in another Calc file. If I have the first file loaded and change the information in the second file, how do I manually update the cell in the first file without closing the file and re-opening it where it asks to update the links?

May I recommend you to open Calc Help > Find tab and search using "update link" next select "Edit links" and "Reference to other sheets..." Under "Edit links" you find information on automatic and manual updates.

If this doesn't help you. please describe in details what you did and what was the result of each step.

Where's the Update button? It's not on any of the tool bars.
