Is there any way of creating a leading arbitrary identifier for chapter headings?

Is there any way of numbering chapters not with numbers nor letters (alphabetically ordered) but with arbitrary words?

Lets say I must number/title chapters with a list made of {“DLL” “DMT” “DMC” “DJ” “DV” “DSS” “DG”}, so first chapter will be “numbered” “DLL.- Fist Chapter Title” and sub-chapters should be numbered as “DLL.1.-”, “DLL.2.-”, but 2nd chapter gets numbered “DMT.-” and sub-chapters “DMT.1.-”, “DMT.2.-” and so on…

I’ve search from something similar to customized lists in CALC, but no result…

The indicated identifiers are not numbers but are rather identifiers so using the term “numbering chapters” is somewhat inaccurate. There is no elegant way to identify chapters using the indicated example. It can be done via a workaround using one custom heading paragraph style with an associated custom list style per heading. Set the numbering to None and the Before separator to the leading character identifier required. You could equally do this using direct formatting for a lot less effort.

I’m afraid it’s not possible for me: I need to use it with sub-docs with no format control. Thanks a lot any-way…
