cannot assign JRE

I have downloaded LibreOffice 6.4 and Java. When I open Tools>Options>LibreOffice>Advanced it says “Java runtime environments (JRE) already installed”, but no JRE is shown. When I use ADD and select the folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_281) I get the message “The folder you selected does not contain a Java runtime environment.”. I am Using Window 2013.

What should I do?

FAQ

You tagged your question jre-64bit but (C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_281) is 32-bit.

After advice from the AskLibO Administrator, I downloaded the 64-bit JRE.

On the LibreOffie>Advanced window

      It displayed the JRE

      I clicked the JRE

Then I clicked Apply and OK

When I created a database (Testing) and clicked the Table icon

      It displayed the error message

The connection to the data source “Testing” could not be established.

No Java installation could be found. Please check your installation.
