Suppress HSQL to Firebase update prompt

I have a Base database which uses the HSQL database engine, as I need to share the DB with an organization which is still on an older LO version without Firebird support, and I am not in a position to get them to upgrade anytime soon—so the DB needs to be HSQL.

When I open this DB in LO 7.0, I get prompted to convert the database from the deprecated HSQLDB format to Firebird. One wrong click here could have consequences that could be hard to undo.

Any way to disable this prompt? Being able to store this information with the DB (so any LO installation knows this DB is not supposed to be converted) would be perfect, but a local setting would help already.

Hello,

One wrong click here could have consequences that could be hard to undo.

When this conversion runs, it is not complete until you click on the Base Save button. Even with that, the HSQLDB files remain intact within the Base .odb and can be restored with fairly little effort. Of course, backups are always a good thing.

Hello,

disable option Tools -> LibreOffice -> Advanced -> [ ] Enable experimental features (my be unstable) and restart LibreOffice.

Hope that helps

Thanks, that did the trick for now. Do you happen to know a more granular way, in case I ever need some other experimental feature?

Do you happen to know a more granular way

Afaik - there is none.
